Few science curricula explore
the concept of characterization and the development of scientific tools.
During Probing the Unknown, students solve a design problem that promotes
critical thinking. Students use probes in order to characterize an unknown
world. The concept of probing is modeled after the use of Atomic Force
Microscopy (AFM) technology. This project received funding from the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation, Inc. Limited grant funds are available to qualifying schools. Please call for details. This program supports the Colorado Model Content Standards for Science: 1, 2.1, 5, 6
